Publisher's Description

hristmas is perhaps our favourite time of year at Places&Faces®, the newest glossy lifestyle magazine for Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. There’s always so much to do, people to see and best of all lots of pantomimes and top level entertainment on the calendar. This year is no exception with a whole host of stars visiting the region including Sheffield’s own Paul Carrack, who is returning home to do a gig at the City Hall on December 17. She might hail from Liverpool but Claire Sweeney, one of Britain’s best-loved actresses has got something of a soft spot for Nottingham. In fact she considers it her second home so watch out for her portrayal of Paulette in the award-winning musical Legally Blonde. So what else is in store? Legendary rockers Status Quo are in town and of course funny man Joe Pasquale is doing pantomime too. This month we’ve also got interviews with the Strictly judge everyone loves to hate – Craig Revel Horwood and the immensely talented singer Beverley Craven. Places&Faces® is very much about the good things in life and if you are looking for somewhere to eat out that has that je ne sais quoi, East Lodge near Rowsley is the perfect place. We sampled its seven-course tasting menu at their exclusive Chefs Table right at the heart of the kitchen and were suitably impressed. And for those looking for a special getaway for a spot of Christmas shopping why not take a weekend break to Nuremburg. We’ve also got fashion, food recipes, gift guides and of course for the men who’ve got everything there are some elite cars to fall in love with too. And don’t forget apart from Christmas, the best thing about December is that as from the 21st the days start getting longer.
