The Chinese call their country the "Middle Kingdom." This reaches back to the days when they saw the nation as central to world civilization, both in location and importance. For the past few centuries, it hasn't been so. China has suffered at the hands of invaders. Now, with its economic rise, the country can be called "Middle Kingdom" again, but for different reasons. The country is caught between the legacy of Communism and the promise of capitalism, between leaning toward atheism and striving toward religion. This song is a prayer that China's 1.3 billion citizens would move out of limbo and into relationship with Jesus Christ.
