The War of the Worlds by H.G.Wells is a science fiction novel split in two parts: Book one: The Coming of the Martians and Book two: The Earth under the Martians describing the experiences of a character travelling through London as the Earth is invaded by Martians. The novel is narrated by an unnamed writer of scientific articles who struggles to reunite with his wife while witnessing the Martians rampage. Since its publication in 1898, it has influenced much literature and other media, spawning several films, radio dramas, comic book adaptations, a television series, and sequels or parallel stories by other authors.
