Our 2010 History of Ideas catalogue contains books from the whole range of intellectual studies. The sciences are represented by works by important figures such as Newton, Einstein and Rutherford. The highlight of the natural sciences section is surely a first edition of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, a book which continues to demonstrate its importance and value even as the author’s bicentenary celebrations roll to a close. The realms of philosophy, politics and economics are well represented by a number of important works, including William Wilberforce’s copy of Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations while a first edition of Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary adorns the section on culture and the arts. Finally, the theological section contains a broad selection of religious texts and commentaries from a number of traditions.
